Bryan. We also shared a couple of incidences as they happened on our Twitter and Facebook accounts. We've got a few more tales yet to tell, but I think we're going to wait until next Halloween to tell you about those stories. But haunted or not, it doesn't really matter, it's all in good fun. This may sound a little odd, but among our friends, this is what we're known for. When we do things, we try to not only do them right, but perhaps even consistently and methodically overdo them.

I guess thats why I find it harder and harder to write articles pointing out the absurdity of everything going on around me. I think my time is better spent working in the yard, taking long walks with my wife, going to the gym, and just letting this Fourth Turning play out as it will, with an unforeseeable culmination and new beginning I hope. Whenever the feelings of demoralization and depression sweep over me and I wonder whats the use of running my blog, I am sustained by the thoughts of the long time virtual relationships Ive formed, the community that has grown within TBP, the great people Ive met in person, the knowledge there are thousands of people who read TBP every day but dont comment, and knowing the establishment would like it if I shut TBP down. This is where defiance enters the picture. The establishment has tried to shut me down with denial of service attacks, trying to get me fired from my job, cutting off my modest revenue stream, and trying to suppress my articles. They didnt realize pissing me off is the exact opposite of what will work.

Andrew Samuels, a professor of analytical psychology at Essex University who also resigned as an external examiner, said the climate in universities was disastrous. Morale is appalling and the pay offer is derisory. Our more junior colleagues are really suffering. This is a way in which the more senior people can make their views felt and heard. During the coronavirus pandemic, the engagement of our external examiners is ever more critical, and Heriot Watt University gratefully acknowledges your invaluable contribution. For information and guidance on mitigating the impact of the pandemic on examinations and assessments, please see our guidance note for external examiners on COVID 19 actions. The Handbook on External Examining for Taught Programmes has been written taking into consideration the recommendations and guidelines of the UK Quality Assurance Agency. It reflects University Regulations and procedures approved by the Senate which relate to external examiner processes available from Ordinances and Regulations, together with generally accepted good practice. From the selection and appointment of examiners, responsibility of Examiners and reporting, through to scrutiny of reports, the Handbook provides a comprehensive guide for Examiners, academic staff and administrators and ensures that the correct procedures may be referred to and are followed. All external examiners complete an annual report, which is considered within the School, as well as by a Dean of the University and Academic Quality. A summary report is provided annually to the University Committee for Quality and Standards UCQS.

Thanks to treaties negotiated between the United States and Native tribes after the Civil War, many black people who had been granted citizenship in those tribes were eventually granted large parcels of land, according to Hannibal Johnsons book Black Wall Street: From Riot to Renaissance in Tulsas Historic Greenwood District. By pooling their resources and welcoming blacks from the Southeast seeking a better life, they were able to form dozens of all black towns in the region. In 1890, Edwin P. McCabe, a politician who founded the all black town of Langston, met with President Benjamin Harrison to pitch the idea of turning the Oklahoma Territory into an all black state. Tulsa became Oklahomas most vital boomtown when petroleum was discovered there in 1901. The oil rush created instant wealth for many whites, but also for some of those landowning blacks with ties to the Native tribes. And the citys new monied status attracted entrepreneurs of all races. Segregation forced blacks into the northern part of Tulsa, and the need for community there created economic opportunity. When the districts first grocery store opened in 1905 at the corner of Greenwood and Archer Street the same corner where Mshairi recited his poem Black Wall Street was born. A better moniker for what was going on in Tulsa than Black Wall Street would have been Black Main Street, says Johnson, a Tulsa historian and author of several books about Greenwood. What were talking about really are sole proprietorship mom and pop businesses.
